Behaviour Support Practitioners

Not only does Access Your Supports deliver quality support services and empower participants to achieve their life goals with the services available to them under the NDIS, Access Your Supports will also work closely with participants to implement a plan that will work.

JOB PURPOSE

Behaviour Support is about creating individualised strategies for people with a disability which are responsive to the person’s needs. Strategies are developed and implemented in a way that reduces the occurrence and impact of behaviours of concern, and minimises the use of restrictive practices. 

What we’re looking for….

Essential

  • Disability sector experience
  • Must be assessed as a core level practitioner as per the PBS Capability Framework
  • Ability to work autonomously 
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication ability
  • High standards of ethical and professional behaviour 
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License 

Highly regarded 

  • Bachelor qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or other relevant allied health field, with current registration to peak body
  • Familiarisation with lodging behaviour support plans on the NQSC portal
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support approaches

Clearances and Registrations 

  • Cleared National NDIS Worker Screen Check 
  • Cleared Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) 

In applying for this role, you will be subject to a National NDIS Worker Screen Check. From 1 February 2021 any staff member deemed to be working in a ‘risk-assessed role’ or at the request of management, must undergo a NDIS Worker Screening Check. 

In-line with the Victorian Government mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for all authorised workers attending the workplace, the successful candidate will need to provide their COVID-19 digital certificate, or, a immunisation history statement as proof of triple vaccination. 

The successful candidate prior to commencing will be subject to a suitability assessment against the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework for NDIS providers and behaviour support practitioners (PBS Capability Framework).
