Minister Butler’s NDIS reform announcements yesterday signal some further necessary shifts in how the Scheme will operate into the future to ensure long-term sustainability.
This focus on sustainability is necessary & appropriate. The NDIS is a vital support system for hundreds of thousands of Australians, and ensuring it remains strong for the long term is vital. At the same time, changes of this scale naturally bring uncertainty for participants, families and providers.
While parts of the sector will face increased scrutiny, credible and community-based providers remain essential to the success of the Scheme. Organisations like AYS that deliver consistent, high-quality and accountable supports will continue to play a critical role in achieving meaningful outcomes for participants.
The full details of the reforms will continue to attract commentary, and there is more to be worked through in the months ahead. What is clear, however, is that the environment will continue to evolve, as it always has.
At Access Your Supports, our approach remains steady. We will continue to adapt, deliver high-quality supports, and remain focused on the people we support.
For our participants, families, and community, our message is clear:
We are here, and we will continue to support you as we always have.
If anyone has any questions, we encourage you to reach out to an AYS staff member.
