WVPHN Partnership 2025/26
Access Your Supports (AYS) was commissioned to work in collaboration with Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN) to deliver a Primary Care Enhancement Project initiative: Intellectual Disability Quality Improvement in General Practice.

This project functions as part of the National Roadmap for Improving the Health of People with an Intellectual Disability and aims to provide tools, training, and resources to general practitioners and clinics to improve their service to people with an intellectual disability. People with intellectual disability face significant barriers in accessing adequate healthcare and currently have a life expectancy up to 27 years shorter than the general Australian population. [1]
A small team of AYS allied health practitioners used their skills and experience in the disability sector to review existing SPIDAH resources and completed some refinements in collaboration with general practices to create more disability inclusive and equitable standards in practice.
