Nana Bev’s Owls of Wisdom

About six months ago, Nana Bev, a familiar face at Dash Gym and Wellbeing (a favourite spot for many Access Your Supports participants), found herself searching for a new knitting project to support charity.

While reading one day, she came across a line that sparked inspiration: “Owls are meant to bring wisdom and knowledge and their presence can be a powerful sign that you are being guided or watched over.”

From that moment, Nana Bev decided to combine two of her lifelong passions her love of knitting and her fascination with owls.

So, like Santa in his workshop, she set her knitting needles to work. Over the next few months Nana Bev has created many unique, creative and truly delightful owl creations for charity. Each character is full of special Nana Bev love and hope!

Every owl comes with a heartfelt message:

“I’m not lost but all alone, if I make you smile, please take me home – Nana Bev”

The response has been nothing short of wonderful. Nana Bev says she never imagined the joy and pleasure her little owl project would bring. Her goal has always been simple: to put a smile on someone’s face. And Nana Bev, you’ve certainly achieved that!

This Christmas, Nana Bev has generously donated her owl creations to the Soft Toy Adoption Centre and contributed to the Access Your Supports Christmas event, ensuring that participants and families can share in the joy of her handmade gifts.

On behalf of all staff and participants, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Nana Bev for her kindness, creativity, and generosity.
