Marnie
Marnie is described as patient, kind and passionate. Her interests include going to the gym, traveling, camping and enjoying brunch. In her spare time, she watches her partner race speedway, listens to music and cherishes moments spent with her family and friends. Marnie is passionate about working in the disability sector because it allows her to meet incredible people and empower them to live meaningful lives. She thrives on the challenges her role brings, knowing that no two days will be the same, but at the end of each day, she can say she’s helped people in a vast array of ways. Marnie holds a diploma in Community Services.
Laura
Laura is described as friendly, passionate and thoughtful. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and sausage dog, as well as going out for brunch and coffee. In her spare time, she likes to be with her little family. Laura finds the best and most rewarding aspect of her role to be taking the stress away from participants and their nominees regarding the financial aspects of their plans. She enjoys providing guidance and assistance and getting to know the participants and their nominees through correspondence. Laura holds a Diploma in Child Care.
Ava
Ava is described as friendly, outgoing and organised by her friends and family. She enjoys designing and building things in her free time and loves hanging out with friends. Ava is passionate about ensuring that those in the disability industry are treated with respect, and her role helps in achieving that goal. She has plans to attend university for a Bachelor of Industrial Design in the future.
Beau
Beau is knowledgeable, caring and amiable. Their interests include cars and video games, and in their spare time, they enjoy working on their car, playing games and talking to friends. Beau is passionate about working in the disability industry because it allows them to directly help people in need. They find the best part about their role is that it has helped them manage their social anxiety, as it provides a relatively quiet space for them to work. Beau has the unique skills of speaking a small amount of Russian, and they identify as non-binary and autistic.
Bella
Bella is described by those close to them as funny, kind and loyal. They enjoy reading, building Lego and playing basketball. In Bella’s spare time, they love walking their dogs on the beach, as well as watching movies and television shows. Currently pursuing a Diploma in Engineering, Bella plans to study Aerospace Engineering in 2025. Passionate about the rewarding nature of their role in the disability industry, Bella finds meeting new people to be the best part of the job. A unique skill is that Bella can easily solve a Rubik’s cube.
Cassie
Cassie is described as vibrant, passionate and empathetic. Her interests include nature walks, watching TV, camping and spending quality time with friends and family. She enjoys making a difference in the lives of others and finds working in the disability industry to be both challenging and rewarding. Her favourite part of her role is working with the amazing team at AYS. In Secondary School, Cassie learned the first 100 decimal points of Pi in order to make the 100 clubs and get a free pie. She completed a Diploma of Community Services in 2021.
Genaiya
Creative, compassionate and energetic. Genaiya has a diverse set of interests including art, gaming, crafts, music and animals. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, gaming and spending quality time with her animals and family at home. Genaiya is passionate about helping others and ensuring everyone has the support they need to live an empowered and fulfilled life. She finds the most rewarding aspect of her role at AYS to be the ability to interact with participants and aid in the use of their plan, working towards NDIS goals as much as possible within her role.
Hannah
Hannah is described as kind, trustworthy and bubbly by those who know her. Her interests include reading and youth leadership. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband Josh, and her family. Hannah is passionate about helping people reach their goals and providing support.
Hayden
Hayden is a kind, patient and caring individual. In his spare time, you’ll find him scaling new heights through rock climbing or immersed in a good book. Hayden cherishes the opportunity to help and connect with new people, whether within his role at AYS or during his solo adventures in Europe, where he spent four months this year. Hayden recently graduated secondary school and is set to study Psychology at Deakin University.
Jacob
Jacob is described as creative, compassionate and easy-going by those who know him. His interests include reading books, playing video games and writing. Jacob is passionate about working in the disability industry, as someone with autism, he values the opportunity to pay forward the aid he received as a child. He finds it personally rewarding to enrich the lives of disabled people and ease any financial worries their participants may have.
Laura
Laura is easy-going and loves helping others. She enjoys water skiing, camping, gardening and some PS4 gaming when she gets the chance. With two young, energetic children, spare time is a luxury, but she likes to relax with a good book or tend to her garden. Laura has 15 years of experience in the community services field, from assisting migrants and refugees to Support Coordination with CALD participants. She’s now in Plan Management, where she enjoys helping participants navigate their plans and providing support and information. Laura holds a Diploma in Community Services.
Patrick
Patrick is described as kind, patient and driven. His interests include Information Technology, playing board games with friends and reading. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and spending time with his family and friends. Patrick is passionate about his work in the disability sector because he believes it makes a substantial difference in people’s confidence to access the services, they need to achieve their NDIS goals. The best part of his role is hearing the inspiring stories of people’s journeys in pursuing their goals. Patrick is currently studying a Bachelor of Information Technology at Deakin University.
Peta
Peta is known for being cheerful, friendly and considerate. She enjoys gardening and watching movies, and in her free time, she likes to potter around the house. With two children on the autism spectrum, working within the disability sector is a way for Peta to help her family and others. She finds it most rewarding to make processes easier for participants, families and carers, knowing they have a better understanding of their plans and funding.
Rebecca
Rebecca is described as friendly, caring and positive. She has a passion for gardening, music and traveling. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Rebecca is passionate about helping people and has skills in playing the piano and guitar. She holds a Diploma of Nursing.
Rosa
Rosa is known for being caring, loyal and reliable. She loves footy, especially cheering for the Cats, and enjoys tennis, especially when Rafa Nadal is playing. Rosa spends her free time with family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoys gardening, listening to music and reading. She finds the most rewarding part of working in the disability industry to be making a positive impact on people’s lives by providing valuable advice, support and understanding of NDIS plans. Rosa is also proud to be part of a supportive Plan Management team. She has the unique skill of fluency in Italian and has spent over 30 years working in the beauty industry before transitioning to her current role in 2020.
Seamus
Tara
Tara is described as happy-go-lucky, funny and passionate. She enjoys playing the keyboard and ukulele and loves going camping with her family. In her spare time, she takes care of her mum duties and hangs out with her partner, family and friends. Tara is passionate about helping people get the most out of life. She lived in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, for 10 years and loves to sing. She holds a Certificate III in Teachers Aid/Government Business Admin and is interested in upskilling her skills in the admin sector.
