School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)
If you’re a school leaver, AYS offers School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) to help you move from school into work. SLES focuses on building your skills and confidence before you enter the workforce.
Through SLES, you can:
- Explore career options and interests
- Build everyday work skills
- Take part in work experience
- Learn how to work with others and solve problems
- Create your own career pathway plan
SLES is available during your final years of school and for up to two years after finishing. It is designed to give you the extra support you need before entering long-term employment.
How does SLES differ from other employment services?
SLES is created for school leavers with disability who need extra support. Unlike general job programs, SLES focuses on building your skills before you apply for jobs. This makes it easier to enter the workforce with confidence and ability.
